Yesterday all the sophomores participated in “Intro To Life” in Valentine with several area sophomores. They were given careers and completed a budget after discussing choices on thirteen finance topics including housing, groceries, insurance and transportation with an expert in that area. There were police officers giving “tickets” and counselors to check budgets. Along with budgets, there were several life skill stations, including auto care, pet care, sewing a button, writing thank yous, interview skills, and many others. Lastly, the students all took the Clifton Strengthfinder and learned about their strengths. It was a busy and very educational day. Several sophomores said “life is expensive” and “I need a better job”.
