On January 14th, 9 FFA Members went to Atkinson to compete in the District 10 LDE (Leadership Development Events) competitions. Courtnie Krueger, Shelby Kepler, Nate Frick, and Caitlyn Krueger competed in the Ag Demonstration, demonstrating how virtual fencing operates. Trent Focken and Andrew Miller competed in Creed Speaking, and Zach Wiebelhaus and Karlene Kepler competed in Employment Skills, which is a mock interview. Zoey Snyder competed in Senior Public Speaking. In Ag Demo, the team made it to the finals and placed fourth, making them an alternate competitor for the State competition. In Creed Speaking, Trent received a red ribbon and placed 30th, and Andrew received a blue ribbon and placed 25th. In Employment Skills, Karlene advanced to the finals and received a blue ribbon, narrowly missing the state qualification and placing 9th. Zach did not make it to the finals, but received a blue ribbon and placed 26th. In Senior Public Speaking, Zoey received a red ribbon, placing 18th. The welding team will be competing in the Lexington Welding competition on February 7th, and then many FFA members will travel to Norfolk to compete in Round 1 of the District 10 CDE (Career Development Event) competition.

Junior High students are selling strawberries as a fundraiser. Strawberries will come with 3 options: Full Flat( 8 containers,1 lb each) for $35, 1/2 Flat (4 containers, 1lb each) for $20 & 1/4 flat (2 containers, 1lb each) for $14. Payment is due at pick up, which will be mid-February based on the weather and ripening season. You will be emailed or called once the strawberry delivery is set. Orders are due by February 6th.
