🌭 Red, White, Blue, & BBQ: Celebrating the Buaya Family! 🇺🇸✨ Yesterday, our incredible school lawn was transformed into a massive American BBQ goodbye potluck for our wonderful math teacher, Ms. Ley, and her family. Our staff, students, parents, and local community members all showed up with full hearts (and incredibly full plates!) to give them the ultimate send-off. A True Community Effort ❤️ • From hamburgers and hot dogs with all the fixings to an unbelievable spread of potluck dishes brought in by our amazing staff and community, nobody went home hungry! • Seeing our entire school village—parents chatting with teachers, older students helping younger ones, and community members joining the fun—reminded us just how special our school family truly is. Ms. Ley, you have brought joy and mathematical inspiration to our hallways. While we are so sad to see you and your family go, we are incredibly grateful for the time we shared. Thank you to everyone who grilled, cooked, set up, played, and helped make this goodbye so unforgettable. ☀️ Big Smiles & Bigger Role Models: Elementary Fun Day! ☀️ What happens when you mix a sunny day, elementary activity stations, dedicated staff and an amazing group of high school volunteers? Pure magic! 🎈🏃‍♂️ Our recent Elementary Fun Day was an absolute blast, but what made it truly special was watching our high school students step up to lead the games, cheer on our younger students, and bring the energy. Why This Matters To Our School Community: • Connections that Count: There is nothing quite like the look of pure joy on an elementary student's face when a "big kid" high schooler gives them a high-five or cheers them on at a station. • Leaders in Training: Our high school volunteers didn't just run activities—they modeled patience, kindness, sportsmanship, and leadership. • One Big School Family: Days like this remind us that we aren't just a collection of separate classrooms; we are one connected community supporting each other from Kindergarten all the way to graduation.
