📸 LOOK WHO GOT AN UPGRADE! 📸

We are SO excited to share that our Art Department has received brand-new Canon EOS R50 mirrorless cameras for our high school photography program! (yay!!)

These cameras are going to give our students the opportunity to learn, experiment, create, and take their photography skills to the next level with equipment that is current, capable, and honestly… pretty darn cool.

A HUGE thank you to everyone who helped make this possible! Whether you donated, shared our project, supported our students, or simply cheered us on we appreciate you more than you know!

Our students have been making beautiful work with the equipment we had, and now we get to see just how far they can go with these new tools. We couldn't be more excited to put them to work!

The future is looking pretty sharp. 📸✨

Unplug, step outside, and open a book! ☀️📚 On Friday our students traded screen time for sunshine with a 20-minute outdoor reading break. Fresh air sharpens focus, boosts mood, and makes diving into a great story even more fun. Parent Tip: Pair nature with pages: Set up a cozy spot in the backyard, park, or porch. Keep it short: Just 15–20 minutes of daily reading together builds lifelong literacy habits without feeling like homework.

Students harvested watermelon from the school garden. All students at KPCS have been enjoying fresh cantaloupe and watermelon throughout the week at the school cafeteria. It has been a bountiful harvest thus far and look forward to adding more fresh vegetables and fruit to the menu.

Students at KPCS are learning about gardening and food preservation. Last year students in 7th grade planted the school garden and freshman tested the soil to create an organic fertilizer plan. The garden looks great and is producing well!Today students enjoyed fresh watermelon and tomatoes at lunch. In agriculture class, junior high learned about canning tomatoes and freshman are working on a salsa recipe in our updated classroom. Huge thank you to everyone that made this project possible!
