Penny War 2022
The War for a Good Cause!
In March of 2021, Abigail was diagnosed with Wilms Tumor Cancer. After surgery to remove the affected kidney, she underwent seven full abdomen radiation treatments and nine months of chemotherapy. Due to complications from one of the chemotherapy drugs, she is now dealing with stage lll kidney failure. She has monthly appointments in Omaha with the nephrologist and cardiologist. She will also continue to go back for post-treatment scans every three months. Port removal surgery is scheduled for February. She has been such a fighter and is a true inspiration!
ALL of the money from this year's war will go directly to Abigail and her family to help with her medical expenses. The war will run from January 31st-February 25th. Each team will have a bucket in the high school office where all the team’s pennies will be put together. Once a week each team’s bucket will be taken to the bank and counted. Pennies will count as positive numbers and other money (coins and paper) will count as negative numbers. Results will be posted in both the elementary and high school buildings. Friday, February 25th, the winning team will be decided and that team will have a pizza party to celebrate their win sometime in March.
