Animal Science got some hands on practice on Artificial Insemination (AI) in beef cattle.

The kindergarten class took a class field trip to the Niobrara Valley Preserve. We drove around looking for bison and baby bison grazing on the open prairie. We learned that male bison horns are shaped like the letter "L" and females are shaped like a "C." We took a hike around the short loop, stopping at the creek and taking in the beautiful Niobrara River.

Blender Bike fun!

Nebraska Extension 4-H Agents Chandra and Debra brought in a blender bike, allowing the students to make smoothies with a blender powered by the energy from peddling the bike. The smoothies were yummy!

Connie from the Lower Niobrara Natural Resources District visited the kindergarten class, talked about trees, and read a book. Connie also gave each student a Ponderosa Pine seedling to plant at home.

Congratulations to Allie Stephen and Dooley Caulfield for both reaching their goals of getting into the 600 and 1000 pound clubs. Their combined weight lifted in the parallel squat, deadlift and bench press got them into the club! Great work!
